If you are looking for a countryside wedding in a beautiful setting near with a relaxed vibe near Bristol, you might have just found the perfect place.

When you start planning your wedding, searching for the right setting is the top priority. It underpins your entire vision and lets you create a day for everyone to remember. If you’ve decided against corporate city-centre hotels and large stately manors in search of a characterful, rural barn that gives you total freedom, a brand-new hidden gem has just opened its doors.

Tockington Park is a beautifully restored barn wedding venue located less than 30 minutes from Bristol city centre.

Tucked away just past Almondsbury, this family-run farm offers the perfect blend of rustic charm, modern convenience, and total flexibility. Here is a closer look at what makes this new South Gloucestershire wedding venue so special.

A versatile blank canvas with rustic charm

Owned and run by couple Gemma-Jane and Ed, Tockington Park welcomes you with a warm, characterful atmosphere the moment you arrive. They are the perfect hosts and show genuine excitement for your day.

The Swallow Barn features high ceilings, exposed rustic beams, and beautiful warm stone walls. It’s a wonderfully versatile blank canvas. Whether your wedding style is elegant and minimalist, or bold, vibrant, and maximalist, this space adapts beautifully to your vision. The barn seamlessly flows from your ceremony space into the wedding breakfast and evening party.

The Swallow Barn was the former milking shed and retains the original wooden A frames.

The perfect indoor-outdoor flow

Stepping out from the Swallow Barn, you’ll find a large, undercover decked area known at The Roost. It suits the British weather perfectly offering welcome shade during hot summer days and complete shelter from the rain.

Both The Roost and the garden can be set up for outdoor wedding ceremonies. You can exchange your vows with the rolling countryside as your backdrop, or have the beautiful barn itself.

Total flexibility for your ceremony

One of the biggest advantages of Tockington Park is its focus on freedom. Because the venue is unlicensed, it opens the door to something incredibly special: a vibrant, highly personalised celebrant-led wedding ceremony. Without the current rigid script restrictions of a legal wedding ceremony, you can celebrate exactly how, where, and when you want.

Gemma-Jane and Ed have already built a fantastic network of local wedding professionals, meaning they can connect you with the perfect supplier team to bring your specific ideas to life.
